Comparison of the Hybrid Credit Scoring Models Based on Various Classifiers
نویسندگان
چکیده
Credit scoring is an important topic for businesses and socio-economic establishments collecting huge amounts of data, with the intention of making the wrong decision obsolete. In this paper, the authors propose four approaches that combine four well-known classifiers, such as K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Back-Propagation Network (BPN) and Extreme Learning Machine (ELM). These classifiers are used to find a suitable hybrid classifier combination featuring selection that retains sufficient information for classification purposes. In this regard, different credit scoring combinations are constructed by selecting features with four approaches and classifiers than would otherwise be chosen. Two credit data sets from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), are chosen to evaluate the accuracy of the various hybrid features selection models. In this paper, the procedures that are part of the proposed approaches are described and then evaluated for their performances. DOI: 10.4018/978-1-4666-0158-1.ch012

Investigating the missing data effect on credit scoring rule based models: The case of an Iranian bank
Credit risk management is a process in which banks estimate probability of default (PD) for each loan applicant. Data sets of previous loan applicants are built by gathering their data, and these internal data sets are usually completed using external credit bureau’s data and finally used for estimating PD in banks. There is also a continuous interest for bank to use rule based classifiers to b...

The Basel II Accord pointed out benefits of credit risk management through internal models to estimate Probability of Default (PD). Banks use default predictions to estimate the loan applicants’ PD. However, in practice, PD is not useful and banks applied credit scorecards for their decision making process. Also the competitive pressures in lending industry forced banks to use profit scorecards...
متن کاملFuzzy Apriori Rule Extraction Using Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization: The Case of Credit Scoring
There are many methods introduced to solve the credit scoring problem such as support vector machines, neural networks and rule based classifiers. Rule bases are more favourite in credit decision making because of their ability to explicitly distinguish between good and bad applicants. In this paper multi-objective particle swarm is applied to optimize fuzzy apriori rule base in credit scoring. ...
متن کاملNeighborhood rough set and SVM based hybrid credit scoring classifier
The credit scoring model development has become a very important issue, as the credit industry is highly competitive. Therefore, considerable credit scoring models have been widely studied in the areas of statistics to improve the accuracy of credit scoring during the past few years. This study constructs a hybrid SVM-based credit scoring models to evaluate the applicant’s credit score accordin...
